Amérika

We decided to dine at the new Amérika restaurant and tell you all about it. This restaurant opened earlier this last fall and is the first of its kind here in the Laurentians. It is located right off of the 117 going north so already it attracts not only the locals but many commuters heading to their homes in the greater St-Jovite area.

Featuring a vast menu of all different kinds of foods, the specialty here is smoked dishes. This smoke house is trendy in decor but very different from the traditional  hamburger/ steak restaurants we are already familiar with. They have a fresh new concept that is like no other in Tremblant or even the whole Laurentian area.

Seated at our table reviewing the menu, our friendly waiter surprised us with something different than the traditional bread with butter. We were introduced to some fried pickles. Obviously nothing we had ever had before but of course both little baskets of pickles were empty within minutes. Delicious!

For our dinner, we wanted to try the specialties. Some of us ordered the smoked ribs, others the smoked pulled pork, cooked nice and slow.  Finally our big eaters at the table shared ‘The Smokehouse King’ platter. This dish had it all; chicken, ribs, brisket and pulled pork. And then of course, a traditional mac and cheese for the little ones to keep them happy. The portions are generous and of course the food was ‘finger-licking’ good. No one unfortunately made it to the key lime pie dessert with a citrus whip and a fried ice cream ball. If anyone ever tastes it, let us know because it sounded delicious.

At Amérika, you have to let go and let your taste buds go nuts  The menu is filled with stuff we’ve certainly never made at home or taken the time too at least, so it’s a great place to enjoy different foods put together in a different fashion and enjoy a nice meal among friends and family. The staff is super nice and they’ll let you know what’s on special and what’s fun to try. We really don’t think you will be disappointed with this restaurant. We know we’ll certainly be going there again soon for some cocktails and ribs.

Thanks Amérika
