Rustique
The new owners have done well to keep the name of the hotel dating from the thirties. An old bar that was Le Rustique, Lake Superior, located fifteen minutes from Tremblant, remains rural and very friendly.
A crackling fire, a lounge area by the fireplace is so very inviting and perfect for taking a cocktail. Try the delicious ‘Orignal’ (The Moose) prepared with a homemade syrup crafted Eline Quillaud, the chef’s partner who watches all throughout the pretty logwood restaurant.
The chef himself, with the casual look, passionate certainly inventive as the fresh menu changes with the arrivals of beautiful wild meat and fresh products of the region, Bruno Théberge-Krivak is in its place! Read my interview with him here on my blog.
The place is perfect for a romantic date, for a family meal (childrens $ 9 menu) and also for a perfect après-ski bar ( bar menu).
The menu on the evening of our visit had several wild meats, fish and seafood. Not easy to choose, but our choices were stuck on a veal entré with cranberry chutney and their classic Rustique deer tartare. Both delicious!
As for main courses, we opted for the monkfish and veal steak with mushrooms.
To finish the meal, we shared a beautiful chocolate ganache prepared by Pierre -Alexandre who prepares the desserts at Le Rustique. .
It is certain that I will return to Le Rustique, after a day on the slopes or to enjoy a drink at the bar and chat with the friendly owners, or to discover exceptional dishes with my friends!
Whatever the reason, I’m sure the evening will be fantastic and my taste buds will be happy.
