If you live in Mont-Tremblant, chances are Cafeo is already part of your routine. If not, it should be.
Located on Saint-Jovite’s main street, Cafeo has quietly established itself as part of its customers’ daily choreography. Upstairs, the Oxyclub Gym hums along, part of an ecosystem of well-being that Cafeo is effortlessly plugged into.
Local regulars filter in for their usual orders. The menu is familiar, unfussy and made in- house, every day.
For owner Geneviève Nicole, authenticity isn’t a marketing strategy. It’s second nature. After a decade running a pizzeria with her partner in France, Nicole came home to Quebec with an instinct for hospitality shaped more by intuition than trends. Her family roots in the region run deep, stretching back for generations in Huberdeau. It makes sense, then, that Cafeo feels less like a business and more like a kitchen table with an ever-expanding guest list. “We want our customers to feel like they are at home,” says Nicole, “like part of a big family.”
Soups are a standout — simple, nourishing, and often described as the best in town. Smoothies are popular with post-workout clients and health-conscious regulars. The breakfast menu is well-loved, especially the Iron Man — a nod to Mont-Tremblant’s iconic endurance event.
Soon the sunny patio will reopen, and extended hours will bring the café to a full seven day schedule.
I ask Nicole about her favourite moment in the day. It happened one quiet afternoon, just before closing. She looked around: friends in deep conversation, solo readers lingering over coffee, a room full of people utterly at ease. “Look at this,” she said to her staff, “look how content everyone is.”
At Cafeo, that’s the whole idea: the quiet, honest magic of ordinary moments with real food, fresh coffee, served with care, every day.
