Après-Ski Season officially opens at Le Ptit Caribou

Dusk descends upon Mont Tremblant. At Le P’tit Caribou, tables are pushed aside. Soon a pulsing crowd spanning generations will be pulled into the orbit of the iconic venue and its legendary atmosphere.

Established in 1993 in one of the hill’s original 400 sq ft cabins, Le Caribou has evolved into a sprawling complex with multiple patios, dining areas and cosy bars that shift seamlessly from dining to drinks to an electrifying supper club that is consistently ranked as the #1 après-ski bar in North America.

“We’re loyal to our long-standing customers, so we stick to old-school rock and classic disco,” says co-owner Josh Wilson. “Turns out our Gen Z clientele loves it too, so it brings everyone together. It’s an amazing vibe.”

But what truly sets Le P’tit Caribou apart today is its unapologetic focus on food and the audacious spirit of owners Wilson, Sebastien Turgeon, and Tyler Mathew Lane, who steered the iconic bar into a decidedly more culinary direction since taking over in 2015.

The partners’ farm-to-table philosophy celebrates local ingredients and everything from spice rubs to salad dressings is homemade – no seed oils, nothing frozen, nothing processed. Elevated gastro-pub options include a wagyu beef burger and house poutine made with hand-cut fries and a rich fond-de-veau gravy that takes days to perfect. Even their signature Bloody Caesar is garnished with homemade beef jerky.

Amidst the revelry, the partners remain grounded in their values, prioritizing community engagement by sponsoring local athletes and charity events. During the pandemic, they stepped up to provide thousands of meals. This spirit of solidarity resonates deeply at Le Caribou, extending to a work culture where everyone feels valued.

“Our staff is treated like family, and this translates into the experience we deliver to our customers,” explains Wilson.

Le P’tit Caribou may be Tremblant’s definitive destination with great food and its unique brand of adventure and familiarity, but the partners are not complacent in their success. With upcoming plans for further renovations and expansion, they continue to push boundaries while creating memories, one epic après-ski moment at a time.
