This past wednesday, La Chambre de Commerce Mont Tremblant hosted a 5 a 7 event in Ste Jovite to launch their first cookbook, Une Affaire de Desserts. This fabulous book features 35 dessert recipes offered to us by our local business people from the Tremblant region. Only 2 or 3 recipes were from actual restaurants such as Hotel du Lac and Le Quintessance. The rest were offered by local businessmen and women sharing their personal family favorites.
This unique concept allows you to not only learn new recipes but get to know the men and women from our community that offer these great dessert recipes. Each recipe comes with savory pictures, detailed recipe instructions and a little story about the person behind the recipe, who they are and what they like.
For example, Marie-Christine Beauchamp Parent, owner of Le Walkin boutique in Ste Jovite is a mother of 3. She shares her ‘Pop Cakes au Chocolat’ which is sure to please any child, or adult for that matter. Yves and Genevieve Gagnon, owners of BMR shared a ‘Truffes Truquees au Chocolat Noir’. Owners of Royal Laurentiens Golf Course shared one of their family favorites; ‘Dessert au Petits Fruits’. To top it off, each dessert has a wine pairing suggested by sEb L’artisan Culinaire sommelier Guy Bourbonniere for those that want to take their dessert tastings to the next level.
The event was a grand success, a fabulous idea and very well received by the many people who attended. This book can be found at La Chambre de Commerce and several other participating businesses for $21. Well worth the purchase whether you are a baker or not. Just the pictures alone will inspire. Merci a la Chambre de Commerce for this fabulous idea. This week I think I just might have to try to make the’ Mousse Erable Cafe en Surprise Chocolatee’. Who’s coming over for a homemade dessert?
