Canadian Art & Wine Festival

thumbnailThis was a first for the new event called the Canadian Art & Wine Festival located on Lac Superieur, 15 minutes from the South side of Mont Tremblant. To be more precise the location was definitely a highlight with its breathtaking views located directly on ‘Le Club de La Pointe’.

Local artists, jewellery makers, sculptures and even the bakery de LaFayette were all present to display their goods. We did not leave empty handed. Of course, being foodies ourselves, our first purchase was a gorgeous breoche for next morning’s breakfast. Some of the artists where outdoors while others were located inside beautiful little white washed cabins along both sides of the peninsula displaying different local art.

So many fantastic reasons for making it out to the north side of Mont Tremblant but the main purpose we came to this event was for the food. The Chef himself told us beforehand that we would be very impressed and lets just say, he did not disappoint!

A five course food and wine pairing was served by Chef Sébastien Houle from SEb L’artisan Culinaire and Winemaker Keith Tyers from Closson Chase Vinyards in a quaint setting overlooking Lac Superior.

It was outstanding to say the least. To be honest, all of it, from the setting, the people that we met at our table, the exceptional food and the discovery of new wine pairings made this just a fabulous evening all around. We certainly hope that this festival has a 2nd and 3rd year and if it does, do not let it pass you by.Collages40

We always enjoy events that feature local produce and enhance Canadian culture and so we wish continued success for the future of this Art and Wine Festival for years to come. Keep an eye open for next years Fab Feast.
